PUSH-ON Jointing & Troubleshooting Guide

1、Cut the pipe to be joined using BUSH PE-X Pipe Cutters. Where the pipe is printed with depth engagement marking, cut at the tip of the mark. Make sure the pipe is cut squarely, the end of the pipe to be joined is round with no rough edge and the surface of the pipe is undamaged (i.e there are no scores, cuts or scratches on the surface of the pipe)

2、Measure 26mm for 16mm pipe and 29mm for 20mm and 25mm pipe from the end of pipe and mark the pipe. This line is known as the safe seal line. Alternatively use the PEX Depth Gauge / Deburring Tool to mark the pipe for a safe seal line. This safe seal line is the line to indicate the correct depth of penetration of the pipe into the fitting. When connecting PEX pipe to copper pipe use the copper pipe Depth Gauge / Deburring Tool to debur the end of the pipe. There is no need to measure the pipe when the pipe is already marked with depth engagement marking.

3、Inspect the inside of the fitting to make sure they are free of dirt and grit.

4、Push the tube firmly with a twisting action until you hear a firm engagement sound. Ensure the pipe
has penetrated into the fitting to the full depth of the joint and the safe seal line marked on the pipe corresponds with the mouth of the fitting (refer step 2). Do not use excessive force when pushing pipe into fitting.

5、Pressure test the installation in accordance with AS 3500 parts 1, 4 & 5.

N.B. If you need to disconnect the pipe and fittings with the disassembly Clip or Tong make sure the pipe is recut to ensure a clean new joint. Whilst the fittings can be reused it is not recommended for safety reasons to open the fittings which have been factory sealed and tested.
